It's a joke (still)

I drove downtown to do four things: pick up my Bar prep materials, sell some old textbooks, pick up my cap & gown, and go shopping.

Well Bar/Bri was happy to give me my bar prep materials but they don't have flash cards for Corporations.  The exam is in less than 24 hours and I need to do some serious cramming.  Still, I lugged home around 30 lbs of books.  I am going to make love to these books for the next two months.

Then I tried to return four textbooks to the bookstore buyback program.  They wouldn't take a single one, but they did have a recycle bin.  My books made a satisfying "plop."

Then I tried to pick up my cap & gown.  They don't have them yet, even though the administration has sent out like three emails saying that the bookstore would have them by now.  Another case of complete disconnect on the part of the school administration.

The bookstore did have a set of Corporations flashcards.  For $30.  That's more than a dollar an hour between now and the exam.  Awesome.

My only successful errand was to Safeway.  I picked up some instant-light charcoal.  Now that the weather is beautiful I'm going to start grilling a lot more.  It's 84 degrees outside right now.  Everything is in bloom and smells wonderful.  This morning before I left the house I made sure to open all the windows to let the nice fresh air in.
Then I came home and found that Yelena had closed all the windows because she "was being blown on."  It was 85 degrees inside the house.

It's a joke.  The whole thing is a joke.  I'm not even halfway through finals yet.  I realized yesterday that I do have enough time to finish all my reading . . . as long as I don't take any breaks.  Not even an evening off.
But, here's a fun Jon Stewart interview with 3quarksdaily.
