Nathan News: Jordan Forgot His Camera Edition

Nathan did several cool things recently.  Unfortunately I didn't bring a good camera but I did have my camera phone, for what it's worth.  Here's a rundown.

There's an incredible children's park very close to grandma's house, and Nathan went there for the first time.  He loved the baby swing (even if he was a little too small for it) and he had a lot of fun with the toys.  He also enjoyed the pure spectacle of seeing other kids running around and making noise.  He's not ready to interact with other kids yet but he's getting there.

Nathan also had his first trip to the beach.  The weather was gorgeous (a San Francisco rarity) and we had a nice barbeque.  Nathan loved the motion and sound of the waves, and the feel of the water (although he was surprised by how cold it is), and he loved playing with the sand.

Nathan also had his six month checkup with the doctor.  He's growing very nicely - he is now 50th percentile for weight and above average for height (based on his gestational age).  In other words, he's tall and skinny, like Mommy (and like Daddy used to be).  No bad news, baruch Hashem.  (We're expecting him to start sitting up on his own in the next couple weeks.  I've been letting him spend lots of time in the high chair so he can practice the sitting position.)

Finally . . . Nathan got his second solid food: prunes.  He doesn't like them as much as rice cereal; he ate them, but he made a face.  But this is good because the rice cereal made him constipated and the prunes will make him more "regular."  A lot of the early foods are constipating (rice cereal, bananas) so it's nice to know we have something that can help with that.

In case you didn't notice, I've changed the software for the babycam.  I did this so Yelena could view it on her iPod touch from work.  (I also like the new software because it's FOSS.)  If you want the user name/password, just ask!
