One of the coolest things I've done in my entire life
A few months ago my reenacting club, the ACWA, did a reenactment at Fort Point. For those of you who don't know, Ft. Point is a Civil War fortress located under the Golden Gate Bridge. We've been reenacting at Ft. Point for years, but this time was special. It was the first time in forty years that the National Park Service has allowed someone to stay in the fort overnight.
That's right. An overnight reenactment at Ft. Point.
In 17 years of reenacting, this is quite possibly the coolest thing I've done. During the day we had around 300 reenactors, which was close to the actual garrison at the fort when it was operational. It was a huge event for the park service and they got a ton of visitors, so everyone was happy.
And, of course, I took a million pictures. Here are some highlights:

The modern Golden Gate bridge reflected in the window of the ancient fort.

Alcatraz (another Civil War fort - no really!) as seen through a gun port at Ft. Point.

360 degree panorama of the bridge, the fort, and the city at night. One of many panoramas I took that weekend.
