Start programs at startup and get rid of current saved session - LinuxQuestions.org

Linux is supposed to be really good about opening programs when you log in.  It even has a feature where, when you log out, it'll remember what you had open and it'll open the same programs for you next time.

That's great, until it stops working properly.  It would open a bunch of stuff I didn't want, and I couldn't get it to stop doing that.  Turns out the culprit is Gnome.  The session file is ~./gnome2/session .  Edit that to get rid of whatever you want.
