Thank You Comcast

It seems like this is becoming a common refrain on the internet.  Let me preface it by saying that they're still better than AT&T DSL - I canceled that shit after one week, and I've been putting up with Comcast for over two years now.  But I'm getting more and more sick of their abysmal customer service.

A few months ago we downgraded our digital cable because we were never watching it.  I got transfered to the "retention" department, where Ken (real name) convinced me that keeping the cable TV + internet "double play" would actually be cheaper than just paying for internet by itself.  He then told me that because I was downgrading, I needed to mail the digital cable converter box back to them.  I did - and couldn't watch my TV for 3 months.  I called back, and Ashley told me that yes, I still needed my cable box, so she sent a repair guy out to give me a new one.  The repair guy showed up 45 minutes late, and made both me and Yelena late for work.  He left me with a remote that didn't work.

Cherry on top: Now they want to charge me for the visit.  I spoke with Yoyie online, and after arguing with me for a few minutes he agreed to waive the charge.  I had to exit and then re-enter chat to get the remote fixed.

I did, and had the pleasure of chatting with Shiela.  I hope she's pretty, because she ain't smart.  It took her 15 minutes to understand that I had a broken remote.  Then she tried to charge me for sending me one that worked, and their store is only open when I'm at work.  After arguing with her for a full hour, she agreed to credit the shipping fee.  I saved a transcript of the conversation because I don't trust them to live up to it.

(While I was waiting for Shiela to un-fuck herself, I called their phone line and spoke with Diego in TV tech support.  He wouldn't help me either.  When I asked to speak to a supervisor, he hung up.)

Hillariously, Comcast asked me to take a survey after I was done with Shiela.  I told them:

I'd have canceled my Comcast account already, but AT&T is even worse.  Congratulations for being slightly less terrible than AT&T.
