"They look like crippled computers."

I've been saying for years that the quality of gaming on a computer is better than on a console.  Not only is it way cheaper (you already have a PC), and there is way more variety (how many RTS games are there for a console?), but the graphics are better.  Always have been, always will be.

Turns out it's not just my opinion.  This guy makes essentially the same points, but in a very thorough fashion.  Long but entertaining read.  He also seems more pissed off by the whole thing than I am.

The Older Gamers Paradise - 2old2play - Gamers

Two admissions he makes: (1) the Wii might really break the mold, and (2) there is the "couch factor."  Those are both valid points.  But you know what?  My buddies and I get together several times a week and play Warcraft III on our laptops. And it rocks.  Can't do that with a console.  And would a Wii really convince Yelena to become a gamer?  I doubt it.

PS: Actually, Yelena's the one who introduced me to the Monkey Island series.  You know what's really hot?  Playing four computer games in a row with a beautiful girl, who totally digs it.  Sorry, didn't mean to brag . . .
