Speed ranting

Like speed dating, but you don't get to take me home afterwards.

I'm in the full throes of bar study so you may not see much more of me until the end of February.  Bar study sucks.  Especially when you're working full time.  (But work is going well.)

There's a major storm outside right now, and the house is shaking.  I hope it's the wind and not a series of earthquakes.  The power went out at some point and now our smoke alarm batteries are dead.

I saw O! Jerusalem.  Great idea, poorly executed, very mediocre script.  But still worth watching for a few really cool scenes, like Israel's declaration of independence.

Saw I Am Legend.  Neat movie, cop-out ending.

Saw the Golden Compass movie (I've been reading through the books).  Overall did a decent job of being faithful to the books, as well as you could expect from a Hollywood movie, but the producers castrated the end (because they too have no balls).

You know what's awesome?  Penny Arcade.  If you're a nerd or a gamer, check it out.  It's funny.

How about those Iowa caucuses???  Good job to Huckabee, I guess someone had to come in first for the GOP.  Good job to Giuliana for coming in 6th.  I was right; he's too liberal for the Republican party.  And the real good news is with the Dems.  Obama in first, good job for Obama.  He's my boy.  And in second . . . NOT CLINTON.  She got third.  Barely, but still.  That's got to sting.  And Edwards is the comeback king; got his butt kicked four years ago, came back for more, and now he's getting more votes than Clinton.  I used to think he didn't stand a chance and now he's playing with the big boys.

Happy New Year everyone.  It's going to be an interesting year.  A really interesting year.  Especially after February.

Now I gotta run and move Yelena's car before street cleaning.
