If you’re tired of the phone calls from Mom and Dad complaining on how sloooww their computer has become, how fast it used to be, how many pop-ups there are, etc., spending hours upon hours fixing and repairing, re-installing and scanning, then this post should convince you with 5 reasons why your parents should use Linux.

"Ooh, it's fresh and original. It's a revolution in UI design." Blah blah blah. I've used Office 2007 for a week now, and I don't like it.
First off, I can't find anything. I've been an Office power user for 15 years now, but with '07 I don't know where any of the commands are. It's not intuitive at all. There's no edit menu. I find myself constantly using the help manual. It's slowing me down.

We all know the Right has marginalized itself and will be nearly irrelevant in the next election. The real question, then, is who will win: the Left, or the Center? I'm not sure I agree with this op-ed from today's NY Times, but Mr. Brooks definitely does a good job of setting up the board.

Most of you are aware that I didn't upload my bar exam answers for the third day on time. I had to write a letter of petition to the Bar, asking them to accept my answers even though they were uploaded past the deadline. Without those third day answers, there was no way I was going to pass the bar, and I didn't have high hopes of them accepting my petition.

Yelena & I pooled some Amazon.com gift certificates and bought ourselves a Wii. It is awesome. Some observations:

The year: 1993. The place: Bonny Doon. A young Jordan looks dumbfounded at his Macintosh Color Classic that won't start. $70 and two trips to tech support later, and Jordan's data is unrecoverable. (Turns out the problem was a thick layer of dust on the motherboard, which the tech company completely ignored. And thus began Jordan's illustrious career of solving his own damn computer problems.)
