Club review: The Cellar

Thumbs up.

Citysearch says this is the second trendiest club in the City.  I hope not.  It was trendy, it was cool, they had two dance floors with real DJ's spinning good songs, and I got myself and my friends in on the guest list with free cover before midnight.  Also nice location, down by Union Square, near other cool restaurants and clubs (such as Le Colonial, which is awesome).

Well said.

The top 10 unintentionally worst company URLs

Thanks to Lynn for this one.

Attn: Entrepeneurs. Everyone knows that if you are going to operate a business in today's world you need a domain name. It is advisable to look at the domain name selected as other see it and not just as you think it looks.

Failure to do this may result in situations such as the following (legitimate) companies who deal in everyday humdrum products and services but clearly didn't give their domain names enough consideration:

Quicksilver for Windoze

If you use a newer Mac then you know about Quicksilver.  With Quicksilver, all you have to do is start typing the name of an application and it launches.  You can also use it to launch web browser bookmarks or even individual songs on your computer.

As usual, this beautiful, slick, and incredibly useful feature is only available on Mac OS.  And, as usual, it has already been copied on Linux, as Katapult.  (For KDE; there's a Gnome version available too, but why would you use Gnome?)

I'm not Christian, but . . .

I'd put this Last Supper on my wall.  (If Yelena would let me.)

Once more unto the breach

I won't be posting much in the near future.  That's because school has started again.  The good news is I'm diving into the work with gusto, and as of last night I was actually ahead in two classes.  The bad news is this semester will take a lot of gusto.  What's new?  Nothing.  I'm enjoying my classes, and it was nice to see some friendly faces again.  Also, two more of my buddies have moved up to the City: Aaron Lipton and Matt Harris.

Preach on, brother Bill!

Thanks to my mom for this one as well.

"Dwarf planet" sounds fine to me.

Thanks to my mom for this one.

Movie Review: Good Morning Vietnam!

Thumbs up.

I put off seeing this movie because Vietnam movies are usually heavy.  This isn't a heavy movie, but it's not exactly accurate to call it a light movie either.  Robin Williams is sent to Vietnam to be a DJ for army radio.  There is a collection of good guys, bad guys, and of course a pretty girl.  There are many jokes, and awesome classic rock.  (I kept thinking: "I need to get this soundtrack!")
