I don't really use Windows any more, but you do.  I've updated this page to reflect the latest in awesome Windows software that you should have.  This is the bare minimum that your computer should have in order to be productive and safe.

I was reading an article on Yahoo! news that mentioned that all three credit reporting agencies are required by law to give you one free credit report per year. Last time I ordered a credit report I ended up paying like $60 because I didn't read the fine print. Ridiculous. The article also mentioned that there are other web sites that offer you a "free" credit report . . .

I've never really known what the difference was between Hispanic and Latino.  Given how sensitive racial sensibilities are in the modern world, I felt bad going around using one term if the other one was really appropriate.  For some strange reason, I don't have any friends who are Latino or Hispanic so I wasn't able to ask (and I never felt comfortable walking up to a stranger to ask).  That's where good ol' Wikipedia comes to the rescue:

Why is this here?

I used to host my own web site on my own server in my apartment in Haight-Ashbury. It was a fun hobby and I had some pretty cool software running (CGI, PHP, etc.). But then the server died. I realized I could either buy new computer parts, which would take time AND money, or just pay for a professional host. Powweb.com is GREAT. And cheaper, faster, and better than building my own server again.
