This is What the Democrats Do

I just got a statement from my credit card that they're changing my terms. Why? Because the Democrats passed the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act. Some highlights:

Making fun of Palin is a popular liberal pasttime, like eating quiche, drinking lattes, raising taxes, and surrendering. A few months ago, when Palin gave her unintelligible resignation speech, William Shatner and Conan O'Brien brilliantly turned it into beat poetry. For those of you who haven't seen it yet:

A few months ago I posted a link to Frank Schaeffer, who gives an excellent glimpse into the minds of the evangelical religious right. Last we earned a small courtroom victory. I wrote this update last week but haven't been able to post it until now.
Wednesday night I didn't sleep. I told the guys at the Marriage Equality Defense Fund I'd have the website ready in time for the hearing. I didn't, but I was close. I've got the new Drupal site up and most of the content is there and most of the features work. See the beta version.
Conditional Freedom

This is a speech I heard at the Marriage Equality Defense Fund fundraiser a few weeks ago. As a man of faith, it has always bothered me that religion is generally seen as anti-gay. This further plays into the Republicans' strategy of polarizing America; if religion is anti-gay, then gays will become anti-religion. I've seen plenty of anti-religion posters at anti-Prop 8 rallies and it saddens me. That's why this speech resonates for me.
Third Stop: Seattle

We went through US customs in Vancouver. When we entered Canada, Sarah and I showed our Canadian birth certificates. When we re-entered the US, the whole family showed our American passports. I got the guy to stamp Nathan's passport; he is now a very well-traveled Bean.
