Open season
You can leave comments again. On my blog, on my gallery, on my guestbook. No more lockdown, no more required accounts with manual authorization. It's all Captcha now, baby. You've seen this before. When you leave a comment, you have to enter the random code. The idea is humans can do it, spam bots can't. And if a human spammer tries to infiltrate my site, I've got backup protection as well.
The result: the internet is an open and friendly place again. This was the original dream of the internet: unfettered sharing of ideas between people. When the spammers came along, I had to throw up defenses which made it harder for honest people to interact. Captcha solves that problem.
Also, it's a great way to procrastinate when I've got 450 pages of Constitutional Law reading to do.
