I've ranted before about Google's long game; see Google's Endgame. I 2011, I predicted that Google was aiming at a unified user interface. I was partially right. Google is still aiming at a unified UI, but their goals are going so much deeper than that. I just wiped my cell phone, and the experience gave me a taste of the future, Google style.

It's true.
Yesterday I stopped by The Art of Shaving and picked up a blade and a brush. This morning I used it for the first time, using the Art of Manliness blog post for some direction. Wow.

There's been a fair bit of buzz on a petition to let Texas secede from the Union. The logic is (a) they want to, and (b) the rest of us would be better off without them. It's hilarious nonsense, of course, but let's look at why.
Cranberry Relish

Add this to the list of things that are better made by yourself, along with applesauce and peanut butter. Our local organic box brought us a bag of fresh, ripe cranberries, oh-so-perfectly timed just before Thanksgiving. And a week before that, a fresh pomegranate. We'd already used half the pomegranate in fresh salads, but had just enough left for this recipe.
